Politics and disinformation campaigns have delayed progress for decades.

Quick — what year did major oil producers first begin to realize the negative effects of pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?

Was it in 2006, when Al Gore’s film The Inconvenient Truth created the first real mainstream buzz about climate change?

Or was it 1988, when NASA researcher Jesse Hansen testified before the US Senate about the dangers of global warming, earning him a spot on the front page of the New York Times and dozens of television appearances (including a recent appearance on 60 Minutes)? …

Every week, I’m going to rank the players based on their impact in the episode. These rankings are going to be completely subjective (so please don’t spend too much time critiquing them) based on my feelings of how entertaining the characters were, how they did competitively/politically, and how the episode impacted their overall game.

I’m going to keep running totals to determine who has the best season on Double Agents. The winner of this prestigious championship will be awarded the grand prize of nothing.

Let’s get to it.

RANKINGS

25. Natalie

This was rough. As a huge Natalie fan from her time on Survivor, I was more excited about seeing her on this season than maybe any rookie ever. …

26. Liv

The Road Kill mission claimed its second victim this week, as Liv was removed from the game because of her shoulder injury. …

28. Amber M

We didn’t see anything from Amber M other than her getting demolished by Kaycee in the mission. The show has absolutely buried her through three episodes this season, as she’s had a paltry two confessionals. …

29–28. The Ambers

Casual fans who have trouble keeping the names of the rookies straights haven’t been tested on which one is Amber M or Amber B yet. They’ve both been completely irrelevant through the first two episodes, combining for one measly confessional so far (Amber B has a goose egg for the season). …

After taking a season off from doing these, I’m back. It’s like Theresa or Darrell making their returns, but with way less people having missed me.

While other major reality shows have gone on hiatus due to COVID-19, The Challenge returns Wednesday with its 36th season, Double Agents.

This season features what is in my opinion the strongest, deepest group of female competitors in Challenge history.

I see about seven or eight girls who can realistically win this, with several others who can contend to make the final.

To be clear, I am completely unspoiled about the results of the season. However, I do know some things about the game format, including the return of the Red Skull (which was announced in the season trailer).

These rankings are based on how likely the challenger is to win the game. …

While other major reality shows have gone on hiatus due to COVID-19, The Challenge returns Wednesday with its 36th season, Double Agents.

Similar to last season, I think there’s only a handful of guys who actually have a chance to win this.

But with five new rookie males, perhaps one of them will emerge as a contender.

Why is it that so many people fail at committing to achieve their hopes and dreams?

Not failing to achieve them — plenty of people give a valiant effort but still come up short.

But why is it so hard for so many to even commit to giving an honest effort?

Why do you see some people at the gym on a Monday, but you don’t see them for the rest of the week? …

Recently after completing the fourth draft of my first screenplay, I decided to finally show it to someone.

One of my buddy’s friends works in the film industry, so he agreed to give me his thoughts on the screenplay.

Now, I don’t have kids, but I imagine handing over your screenplay to a stranger for the first time is essentially the same feeling as dropping your child off for her first day of preschool.

The thoughts race through your mind.

Did I do a good enough job with her? Is she ready to be out in public? …
