Overall Thoughts: After years of having the same people dominate over and over again, The Challenge decided to try to level the playing field with Invasion of the Champions.

Eighteen non-winners were put on an island and had to earn their way into the “Oasis”, aka the Challenge house.

Then they had to compete against the Champions team, comprised of four male and four female winners.

What works in Invasion’s favor is that it’s essentially the dawn of a new era of challengers, particularly Ashley, Amanda, Nelson, Hunter and Kailah (I realize that Ashley/Amanda/Nelson had been on Rivals III, but they make much bigger impacts on Invasion).

It’s also by far the most personal season in Challenge history.

I think because of the invasion twist where they were showing what the Champions were doing back home, they decided to lean into the personal aspect of the castmembers more than they ever had before.
