Overall Thoughts: You might see this ranking and think, “Yeah, Spies, Lies & Allies wasn’t a good season…but fourth-worst of all time? You have recency bias.”
I’m writing this just a few weeks after the conclusion of the season, but I can’t see my opinion changing on this after more time passes.
Some seasons (especially the Dirty 30/Vendettas/Final Reckoning trilogy) improve drastically on a re-watch because so many of the episodes didn’t end with eliminations, which is annoying when watching live but isn’t that big of a deal when you’re binging.
That’s not a problem for Spies, Lies & Allies, as almost every episode ended with an elimination.
The problem with Season 37 was that it was flat-out boring. The stale veteran cast dominated the gameplay, the solid rookie class got completely decimated, and it resulted in one of the most predictable seasons in Challenge history.
If I only get to watch one season for the rest of my life, I sure as hell don’t want it to be this 21-episode slog.
